DA-4 Addressable 4-20 mA Input Module

Manufacturer: Teledyne| Detcon
The Detcon DA-4 4-20 mA input module is a stand-alone serial addressable device.

Each DA-4 has four sensor input channels that provide power to any 2-wire or 3-wire field sensor and collect standard 4-20 mA signal inputs. The 4-20 mA signals are communicated by the DA-4 to a host control device using RS485 Modbus RTU commands.

DA-4 modules are din-rail mounted and stackable with slide-in connectors that bus the power and communications lines between modules. Modules are serially addressed using front panel switches and the LED flashes to demonstrate valid communications status.

As serial devices, these DA-4 modules can be located locally or remotely and are connected using standard 4-wire serial communications cable.

The DA-4 module is powered by a 11.5-30 Vdc input. This input voltage can be used to power any 2-wire or 3-wire field sensor: such as a combustible, toxic gas or any other industry standard 4-20 mA sensor device.

Each module is designed with integral protection from voltage and current spikes found in typical industrial environments.

The DA-4 4-20 mA Input Module can be combined with Detcon’s RL-4 (relay output), AO-4 (4-20 mA output) and DI-4 (contact input) line of I/O modules to create a rugged and reliable control system.

Control System designs using the Detcon line of I/O modules are low-cost and simplified.

They provide seamless expandability and simplified field wiring for low-cost installations.
